Here it is, nose down in 3" of ice.  It was sure lucky that the right rear wheel got caught on the side of the pool.
Before the toe-truck got a hold of the backend, the car almost slipped completely in.  Water that was filling up the interior and was pulling the car further into the water.
Once we had the car stabilized, we decided to pump all of the water out of the pool.  Here comes the local fire department.  Once the firemen hooked up the pump, it only took about 15 minutes to completely drain the entire pool.
The wrecker pulled the mustang into the shallow end, and sat the rear wheels on the concrete.  We could not pull it out of the pool without destroying the pool and the underbody of the car.
I looks like were going to need to replace the pool liner after this one...
What do we do now?  It is 17 degrees outside and it is getting dark.  We can't leave it... the engine is full of water and will likely freeze if we can't get it into the garage.
Time to start jacking it up... First the left side then the right.  Back and Forth...
Now lets put some boards underneath so that we can pull her out.
It Works!  We got it into the garage and kept it warm all night...  The next day, we drained the oil and got 8 gallons of water out of the engine.  Additionally, we got another 4 gallons of water out of the transmission.

After cleaning out the carburetor, replacing the plugs, and putting in fresh oil... can you believe it?  She started just fine!
